The Castle of Beloeil belongs to the House of Ligne, one of the most prestigious Belgian noble Houses. The actual Prince of Ligne, Michel Lamoral, is married with a Brazilian Princess, Dona Eleonora d'Orleans- Braganca. She is a cousin of the Duke of Braganca, Dom Duarte Pio, the Chief of the Royal Portuguese House.

Prince's Michel sister, Princess Cristina, is married with the Brazilian Prince, Dom Antonio d' Orleans-Braganca, Dona Eleonora's brother.
Prince Antonio and Princess Cristina had four sons. Their eldest, Dom Pedro Luiz, died last year in a plane crash.
Prince Rafael, his brother, is considered now the fourth in the line of the Brazilian throne (if the monarchy was restored), after his uncles, Dom Luis Gastao and Dom Bertrand, and his own father, Dom Antonio.

I like to visit castles whose families are connected to the Portuguese Royal Family and, in a certain way, with the Portuguese History.
I like this feeling...I feel closer to my own country, my roots... this liaision through the times between countries, connections plenty of History...
