How we ended up in The Netherlands

Initially, when we decided to emigrate, we thought about the UK or the Luxembourg. However, we ended up in The Netherlands ... How did this happen?

My husband posted his CV in an international job portal. Soon he was answering to several phone interviews from different countries: UK, Luxembourg, Portugal and the Netherlands. This last one went really well and he was invited for a face to face interview in Amsterdam.

The interview took place on a Friday. We stayed until Sunday to get a more accurate idea of the cost of living and how things work in the Netherlands. During this time we tried the public transportation network, visited the markets and supermarkets, took boat rides in the canals, visited Anne Frank's house, the Van Gogh and the Jewish Museums, the flower market and the "Red Light District".

The following week my husband received a job proposal written in English. We read it, liked it and answered back with a positive response. The company sent an English written contract, already signed by them, along with a Dutch working legislation employee file. One and a half month later we were living in the Netherlands.

Lemos, gostámos, deu-se feed-back positivo.
