There is a city upstairs...Citadel...

There is a city upstairs...with houses, gardens, paths, stairs, lifts, bridges and very nice views...

From Almere (III)

It's the Citadel in Almere-Stad...

Located at the heart of the new town of Almere, the dual-purpose block designed by Christian de Portzamparc fits into Rem Koolhaas’ multi-layered urban plan.

The block is fragmented by the crossing of two pedestrian high streets built onto a structural plate, which, below, accommodates the public car network and car parks. Above the high streets, colorful houses are distributed around a large convex meadow, preserving the intimacy of the inhabitants.

Incredible shots, very nicely done, Sandrinha!
I like the geometric shapes in some (or most) of the photos, it gives them an almost abstract feel...
The views from that terrace are really nice. I'm in love with this kind of modern architecture, and coming from someone that loves history, that's to say a lot! :D

THanks for showing this to us and to the world, so that the world knows that the Netherlands is not just Amsterdam with their (lovely) step-roofed houses and canals, the Red District and the Heineken museum....

First, what amazing skies!!!

Second, I love all the modern architecture, and especially the green glass (?) on the terraces.

Your photos make me want to draw and paint. If only I could sit under that white umbrella in photo in the 5th photo. Maybe with a nice koffie :-)

@ Japra:

;-) The green glass is from the balconies of another building which has got also balconies with orange glass.

;-) Really? my photos make you want to draw and paint?
That is very nice ;-) of you.

Beijinhos, dear Japra ;-)

It´s a nice place this Citadel; the photos are very beautiful, and show us the Citadel perfectly.

It seems a happy place but peaceful...

Cheers from Argentina!
