From Grasse

"Grasse has been a popular tourist town for several centuries, with the smell of flowers and clear air. The altitude of the town, from 300-400 m, and the hills behind give Grasse a fresher climate than the beach during the heat of the summer. Princess Pauline Bonaparte, the Emperor's sister, spent the winter of 1807-08 in Grasse, recuperating her mental and physical strength. Queen Victoria vacationed through several winters in Grasse, staying at the Rothschild's or at the Grand Hotel. Napoléon himself passed through Grasse on 2 March 1815, but didn't have time for vacationing."

Que espectáculo! Adorei viajar por Grasse via Presépio. É tudo extraordinário: casas, perfumes, artistas e gato.
E as tuas fotografias são lindas.
Bom dia!:)

Merci mille fois, thank you ever so much for dedicating this lovely piece to me; you know how much I love Grasse. When I passed throughh Grasse one lovely Sunday morning, I was directed by some music wafting in the air towards a little storefront. There was a church conducting a service, but is was an evangelical church, the same denomination that come from. I entered in only to find the most beautiful sight of French people worshipping in the same manner as I. We took communion together of fresh bread and real wine, and it was a wonderful message. Unlike the communions here in the U.S. of crackers and grape juice, this communion was unedited, so to speak, and everyone delighted in the authentic fair of the day and place. And of course, I was escorted by a darling young man that day through the town, and he took me to Fragonard and bought me a souvenir perfume. What a GREAT DAY!!!!! I felt like Audrey Hepburn in the movie, Roman Holiday!

These are exquisite photos and I thank you for such an uplifting gift of friendship....Grosses bises, Anita

Beijinhos ;-)

I had no idea that this town was so charming, I truly love it! Apart from the reference to it in Suskind's book Perfume, I hadn't heard or read anything about it. Just beautiful, thanks for showing it to us!

Aledys, you will enjoy this town very much, I'm sure of it ;-) Maybe in the Spring you can go there ;-)
