Tavira" is het mooiste stadje van de Algarve", Tessa de Loo

"Tavira, ook wel het Venetië van Portugal genoemd, is het mooiste stadje van de Algarve. Gezien het grote aantal oude kerken en kloosters (37) is het misschien ooit ook het meest katholieke stadje geweest."

This Nederlander writer had visited too the lovely town of Tavira, in Algarve (south of Portugal).

She begins to say that Tavira is known as Portugal's Venice...

And I must say, I agree with her...Tavira "is het mooiste stadje van de Algarve" ;-)

Já passei lá umas férias e gostei muito da cidade. Aliás, do Algarve, gosto mais da zona leste, de Tavira a Vila Real de Santo António. É mais bonita e as praias são melhores.

Vila Real de Santo Antonio associo sempre a Ayamonte. ;-) Iamos la comprar caramelos :-) e, ve la, ate fomos escolher o papel para forrar as paredes dos quartos ;-) muito finos os papeis, por acaso, cores muito suaves...
Nos anos 70, iamos sempre durante um mes para Monte Gordo :-) Muito Bom!
Na zona Oeste, gosto muito de Ferragudo e Alvor :-)

Também já estive desse lado do Algarve. Gosto sobretudo das rochas e da paisagem.

Estivamos lá no Verão de 2008 e gostamos muito. A ilha de Tavira entõ é um pequeno paraiso onde os carros não entram.
